To most people that are my age, the 1979 revolution in Nicaragua was top news every evening on TV - just as the Iraq and Afghanistan wars have been for those of my children's age.
So it was with a pretty decent knowledge of that history that Anne and I visited the Museo De La Revolucion in Leon - - - Leon being the hotspot for much of the revolt against the Somoza government and subsequent fighting in the streets.
The unrestored building including bullet holes in the walls, was the Somoza communications building located in the centre of the city. An original now 57 year old combatant for the Sandinista rebels, was the guide that took us through the structure while explaining in his limited English the details and describing them through the endless photos that lined the walls.
At one point we sat down and he opened his satchel to show us news write ups about the Somoza families. Framing my camera upwards, I captured this compelling image of our guide Marcos as he discussed the first Anastasio Somoza García.
