Rock Art Perspectives Show in Bend, Oregon

Five large format rock art fine art prints by Alain Briot are featured in the show Rock Art Perspectives: Pictographs and Petroglyphs at the High Desert Museum in Bend, Oregon. Detailed information about this show is available on the High Desert Museum website at:

The show runs until May 31st, 2009. It opened on February 13th and the official reception is on April 2nd.

Three photographers are featured in this show: Alain Briot, David Muench and Michael Frye. Artwork by Native American artists and findings by archeologists are also part of this show.

This is an excellent window on the artwork of the earliest settlers in the North American continent, the Native Americans. Their artwork, drawings colored with crushed berries, ochre and other natural products, on rocks and in caves and the carvings in the rock are important windows into cultures almost completely lost.

If you are in the area or planning a trip near Bend, Oregon, a visit here would be worthwhile!
