Second climber

I don't know how many remember this story, so here's the brief. In June 2008, the famous skyscrapers climber Alain Robert got to the top of the New York Times building. This was one more in his long list of conquered skyscrapers. A few hours after all the commotion caused by Mr. Robert, Renaldo Clarke, a completely anonymous resident of Brooklyn did his own stunt show climbing the same building, bringing back the police, firefighters, and hundreds of amazed people to the scene. It wasn't funny, actually it was frightening watching this person hanging from the wall of the building, moving slowly to the top.

Hi Ruben,

Good shot. One might wonder what the NYPD were thinking though (unless they wanted him to fall and discourage a third attempt)?

Cheers,
Bart

I love this type of daring. Such guys are exceptional like the kids who unravel a disordered Rubik's cube in 20-30 seconds! Such guys should be considered national treasures!

It is a very nice capture Ruben.

As to the climber, if he is trained, then I would say why not. He takes the risk and the glory.

Else, he was putting himself and the rescue services in danger.

Bart, thanks, at least one thing is for sure, that helicopter wasn't there to help him :)

Asher, Fahim, thanks for stopping by. AFAIK the only reward for this guy was a free mental health consultation at Bellevue Hospital (not bad at all!)...

Runen, good picture - scary thought eh!

Asher, I'm not convinced of the comparison with a Rubik's cube solver, but yes these people have some daring.

Thanks Mike, yep, scary, at the moment of this capture the guy was more than halfway to the top of the tower, more that 100m.
