I was in a print & frame shop with my wife while traveling. The shopkeeper was very gracious to let me make

this image of her. Do you think it needs a tighter crop? Any other comments or suggestions are very welcome!

It does not "need" to be cropped as it works well as it is. She's asymmetrical in the picture and that shows the spontaneous nature of the photograph. You don't want to mess with that quality.

However, if you are planning to sell or show pictures as a series, decide how much of the b.f. should provide context.

This picture alone, however, shows us the woman distinct from a busy detailed and task-driven world, stopping her life for a moment, to great us. That's beautiful and there's no artistic need to change how you made it.

If you give her a copy, she'll be delighted!
