Shots in the dark: Friday Night football

I used a D300, 300 f/2.8VR, on monopod, with SB800 clamped about 18 inches below.
I had the flash set to 1/320, and manual exposure; 1/320 at f/2.8.
Started at 1000, quickly to 1250 and most of the night at 1600 ISO, with the last quarter bumped to 2000 ISO.
Friday night football is frustrating, hit and miss for me. But I keep trying It's fun while I'm there.

Thanks Trudy. It is the most challenging type of photography I attempt. I have fun shooting, but it's frustrating when I get the card uploaded.
