I like the idea of this series. The first picture has been taken so that verticals appear true. There is no attempt to flattery of nature. The sky is overcast. There is nothing marvelous there at all and this lack of decoration, well defined geometry provides a definite statement of emptiness where we'd expect to find the rush of center city life. It's architecturally clean but lifeless and the title is therefore fitting, "Silence"!
With this mood established, the second picture fits in showing us the other side of the freeway, still far too early or late to be full of life, but at least showing the setting for walks and relation, about to come along if one waits.
I see this as the very beginning of a much large study. Maybe some views from the roofs would be interesting for you too.
