Happy Easter.

Fahim,

This is such a peaceful idyllic scene. I love the painted houses and their reflections in the water. Consider trimming an inch off the bottomn as it is then even more calm.

Hi Fahim
nice shot of a wonderfull place/island.
Some years ago, Marine and I did spend a night in one of these building, on the left end of the view, the yellow one if I remember well…
If I rmember well I should have a similar shot, but during summer, I'll have to dig!

Hi Asher, Nicolas:

yes it is a lovely place. I am thinking of getting back to Scotland as I find it very much a place I love to
photograph in. The place and the people are so to my liking!

On another subject, I am having problems with my image hosting site..my images seen to become
overexposed after I have uploaded them. e.g this image on my monitor is darker and more saturated. The pinks are not anaemic as you see them now.

Does one correct an image for posting to cater for such anamolies?

Any suggestions?

Best regards.

Hi Fahim,

Scotland is a beautiful country, and the coastal villages are always so pretty - you have captured this one well.

With regards to your image hosting problems, I would first check that you have converted the images you've uploaded into sRGB colourspace.

Most internet browsers don't make use of colour spaces - so an image that is in, say, Adobe RGB, will often look flat.

Cheers,

Happy Easter to you all, too!
Is it the place, where they make some good scotch?

Sláinte!, I know only the Laphroig from Islay and the Balvenie from the highlands.

Andrew, thanks for helping me out.

My images are indeed uploaded in sRGB. At least that what my cs3 says and is set for. Let me try something else.

Best.

Nicolas, small world, and your Portree is much better than mine!

best.

Thanks Fahim, but I got the benefit of summer light!

In hte meantime, I have found the original Nef file (yes at that time I was a Nikon shooter!) so I could see the real date : August 4, 2001 !!!

And I could reprocess the image (I thought I could maybe recover some of the burned highlights…)

Here is a new version…

Nicolas, you did good.

Family and me shall be in France june/july depending on univ. holidays. Will you be in France?

best.

ps. i usually save for the web, which removes the exif data. but makes it easier to upload.

Bonsoir Fahim
Yes I'll be in France but not all the time, despite the crisis, I still have some assignements and most of them are around this period, but all depends of weather forecast, PM me as soon as you know your own shedule and if you think you'll come around Bordeaux, that would be nice to meet!

AFAI remember, when saving for the web there is an option to embed the ICC profile (which is not in the exif anyway…)
