Spread Eagle.......

Eaglets have hatched at the nest, they are about 18 days old. Just starting to see a little wing flap up once in awhile.

Here is Mama banking in as she approached the nest. I would have preferred to have more room on the sides but was lucky just to get it all in the frame.

what a gorgeous bird
great shot! really-

I wished one of those eagles would fly over my yard
we have some huge falcons and hawks which omg their wing span is huge
one flew over my head one day when I was on the phone sitting in the backyard swing and landed on the fence just behind me
I never saw him coming! just a brush of wings brown and gold-
stealthy huh-

Hi Eric,

A magnificent image of a magnificent bird. The only thing that strikes me as a negative is that the image looks a bit dull. The image could benefit from some tonemapping and local contrast.

If you don't mind, I've used SNS-HDR for some quick tonemapping that would be much harder to achieve in Photoshop. Although I've overdone the effect a little to show the difference in impact, IMHO it helps to improve the impact of the image:

Looking forward to the sequel of this developing story of yet another successful nest, "gone with the wind".

Cheers,
Bart

I like this one a lot Eric. It should be in a wildlife magazine for all to enjoy. I've seen an adult here but the Chinook has been howling like a big dog and I think they're staying close to home.
