Ben,

Dressed for the prom? Is this the extra picture you take or the one for the year book, LOL? Not the girl next door look, for sure! This is a lovely picture and the hands are nicely placed. I'd have her holding just the pearls. Two necklaces on her might be overkill. Holding the pearls would signify a classy future of comfort. That's what a beautiful girl can often bargain for.

Asher,

Great idea on the pearls. I will try that next time! Below is a shot of her prom dress.

Ben,

A nice pose. I wonder f the colors are over saturated as the skin is not as fresh looking as the previous shot. How much time is allocated per student and who on earth pays for all this time? How many kids in that year?

Do you use a self supporting pop up back cloth or is that hanging from a rod on two stands? Also, what's the pattern on the floor from?

In my low key camera room the fill light is one large single light from behind the camera. In my high key camera room the fill light is not only behind the camera but the background lights bounce off the white ceiling and then onto the white floor giving me lots of fill light!!!

I usually spend about 2 to 3 hours per student photographing them and an additional 2 to 3 hours retouching them and enhancing them in Ps. I present a 5 x 7 "proof magazine" to the student which sells for about $200.00 give or take. I sold all but one last year! Then on top of the proof magazine they will order prints for themselves and relatives. My average order is around $700.00 per student.

This background is a 10 x 20 canvas with a painted "fog" on the floor.
