My World: Street 202

Having been a photog since the 70s, I have learnt something about street photography and life in general.

Let me share it with you, by your leave of course. Please remember that these are my personal observations. Yours shall definitely be different..otherwise something is seriously wrong.

Always be ready to run. Fighting has never been my forte.
On the street, numbers are against you. And so is size, at least in my case. No point in discussing the art of tent making in such instances.

Don't loose focus. It helps if the target and you share the same passion; sweets for example. An opening, to discuss the intricacies of confectionery manufacture. Before or after the snap. Preferably after. Gives one more time to get acquainted. Jump on the train you want and let the others go their way.

Curiosity is your friend. In your subject that is. You have her/his attention, however brief. Bring all your training and experience to bear. You should know where all the right buttons are. No fondling for iso or apertures. You should know instinctively where each one is. Time is precious or pleasure, as the case may be. Or as your luck might turn out to be. Always come ready for action..at the drop of a hat or whatever is required at that time.
