Well now David, that's some drama!
Need a nice long lens to get the action on the roof. The smoke is part of the drama, but I'd rather have it on more pixels!
Where do they allow you to stand?
Here, they might make a perimeter and have you move across the street!

At this fire I was actually less than 50 feet away. Here in Vegas most of the time they do not really care as long as you stay out of the way. When I took the picture of the action on the roof I was actually walking up to the fire when I took the pictures. Sorry about the pixels I am working on improving that.
I have always been lucky and been able to get fairly close to the action as long as I move when I need to.

I have no complaints about the pixels! Just if you want to prints, you'll be happier and your printer will smile at you!

Ahhh ok Asher. I have already printed them and have them hanging on the wall in my den. Thank you for clearing that up.
