Very nice image, Chris. I like the aspect of the bottom-most leaf and how it cradles the rest of itself...this is what makes it a success, along with the light too.

I can't believe that no one else has commented on this yet...?

Thanks to Paul for probing recent posts, otherwise, this would have been lost, I fear! I missed it myself.

Thanks to you Chris for sharing this well composed picture. The form is so well framed that it would be splendid fashioned as a black and white print. Yes, for sure, the structure, by itself would be impressive.

However, you are so right in leaving the color, as their subtle marks make this plant so especially attractive.

Succulents have become so popular recently, as a fashion, perhaps and also because they consume less water than regular garden plants. They provide a bulky leaf system with interesting shapes, and the cradling, Paul points out is part of the charm. The rest is the tinges of colors beyond green, with purples and oranges like shaded desert rocks.

I too was a bit taken aback that no one commented on this image. I had it printed on aluminum and as I was taking it out of my car to go to a gallery I show in, a lady waking by asked to see it closer. I sold it before ever moving it. Deal!

Thanks for the comments. I have played with it in B&W but haven't found the right contrast range to make it work, yet. Sometimes things just get lost in the shuffle.
