The age old ceremony of Alms giving to the Monks. Barefooted and displaying humility, the monks pass in a procession early in the mornings to collect alms.

While this ceremony occurs throughout Laos, the one in Luang Prabang, in the north, is famous more for its surrounds than its difference. The city itself is Unesco Heritage Site. A wonderful small city.

By law, the town goes quiet around 2100 hrs, so as not to disturb the monks sleep. The monks have
managed to retain the quiet of this town inspite of ( despite of ) the influx of tourism.

The center of tourism in Laos.

The Faith of the Lao people is so much more than the sum parts of its various architecture and monuments. I sensed it in the day to day life around me, as much as my limited time would allow.
Spent more time just observing the people, more than the architecture.
