...and a lot of effort - just to move one little pipe across a very big valley!
Spent some time last spring photographing the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Stumbled upon this abandoned pipe trestle off an unmarked dirt road.

I can't believe I nearly missed this. What a surprise!

The perspective of the pipe trestle and the receding lines are interesting and strong elements bring one into the picture. Then in the hills we have softer complementary lines that balance this striking structure. Still I'd have like to see something in the path or an anchoring object at the lower left. In fact, I'd wonder why isn't it wider on the left!

That doesn't mean the picture needs any of these things, just my wish I had been there. Do you have more shots? Sure you do!

Hi Asher,
I'm glad you enjoyed the image! Unfortunately it is a "one-off". I spent the day one step ahead of an approaching winter storm front (which is NOT where you want to be, alone and relatively lost in the high mountain passes of Rockies). I grabbed this gem and ran. Although I promised myself I'd stop on the return journey, time and weather did not allow for that luxury. What distresses me most is the missed photo opportunity that existed off-camera. The valley had a delightful mix of abandoned mining structures, an old rail line leading into a long unused tunnel, etc.
Oh, well....
