My World: The 13 steps to death...

Hundreds of them. They climbed the 13 steps ( 12 shown here ), the door opened, a noose was placed

around their necks. And they swung till dead.

Nowadays it is a small Hacienda and garden, housing a museum.

Fahim,

This is indeed somber and your choice of using B&W is so apt. The mood created is somber and chilling. The composition is strong with a rhythm of parallel lines from the right branch of the tree and then the two lines of shadows on the right hand wall. Remarkably, there's a dark band following the slope of the steps on the wall of the rising structure and on the right, by the lower steps there's another, (but thinner and more subtle), black band tracking the far right of the steps too.

I counted 10 steps, so perhaps this is not for death, after all, or else you couldn't get back far enough for your lens at the time. There's a lot of craziness about the the number 13 and hanging! Must have been very frightening to climb the steps! I hope they at least gave them liquor beforehand!

I myself like the number 13!

I count 11 steps..now that you mention it!!

#13 is good. Seats a plenty on planes abroad. friday 13th, almost fly free!!

Frightening..I do not think would begin to describe the emotions!! What if one is watching as a family
member is led up the steps...father, son, wife, friend...

Thanks for taking the time to provide the words that I lack to accompany the image.

Regards.
