The Great Esc-ape

Hi guys,

Another shot from my recent trip to Dorset. Grabbed this image with the 200mm whilst wandering around an ape sanctuary/

Spotted this sad little guy. He was quite a way off and and so the AF kept focusing on the mesh not the eyes. Switched to MF and cracked it.

Cheers,

I'm so impressed with the eyes! Cannot believe they are not human! I first thought you had cloned them in.

Hi,

Subject is really strong... but i feel this picture seems unreal, maybe digital retouching is too strong ? Did you process HDR shots or something like that ?

As mentioned, the eye detail is great, but I think what I dig the most is the chain link. It looks almost like CGI, and the contrast between the realistic and the "processed" really grabs me.

Matt,

This is such a perfect shot. Look at those eyes! They look so sad, and curious, filled with such longing! And the chain link and the hand just fit so well. I love it.

Matt, with all due respect this is one of the saddest pictures I have seen. I imagine myself looking from
behind onto the world outside.

Technically well done.

Regards.
