The man of the islands

Hi, everyone!!

It's a pleasure to take part of this forums. Looking forward to exploring it and meeting lots of you.

Let me tell you a bit about myself:

I'm a man with three islands in his life... Majorca, where I was born 32 years ago... Cuba, where I lived for two years and graduated in cinema and TV directing at the EICTV International Film School... and Manhattan in New York, where I live currently for almost 3 years, and where I explore the joy of a great relationship and one of the best cities in the whole world and all it has to offer, specially in photography!! I also lived for 8 years in Barcelona, one of the greatest cities in the whole world, that I call my second home, no matter where I am in the world.

I'm a journalist, a writer, a filmmaker in progress, a communicator in every possible way. I love to talk, to listen and to learn from everything and everyone. Photography has become one of my fondest passions and I keep pushing myself day after day to learn more and keep on improving.

I'm working as a freelance, so any job recommendation or collaboration for co-creative work is more than welcome.

Up until October 2008, my photos were a mix of iPhone shots (with some postproduction) and my Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5. From now on, I keep my Iphone (like the results) but I have upgraded to a Panasonic DMC-FZ50.

Welcome Sion,

We're so glad to have you here. The small digicams are so important to developemnts in our social life and often provides a more intimate window on life as it really is without preparation by the photographer.

Soon the humble phone camera will have much of the capability of "real cameras" and we'll see exhibits of this work. So I'm glad that you have an interest in this area between snap shots and more serious photography.

Asher
