How weird can you get to use the D700 as a film camera. Trouble s that you have to guess the ISO as the camera can't read the film correctly!

Asher

Asher, D700 is a new Kodak emulsion. It uses elctron positron pair production at a nano level to allow it to be exposed at any iso from 50 to 202,000 with only a minor loss of quality...

Fahim, the pictures are great and the colour lovely as always (perhaps more so now my browser is colour aware). The wine can be either delightful or a bit thin, depending on what you are given:)

Best

A bit of color...

Fahim,

I love the splashes of color and your compositions. These pictures are very upbeat and lyrical like from a Disneyland set, and seem indeed magical! What an amazing stretch of the imagination form the endless sandy colored deserts and brand new stone cities of Saudi Arabia. These new pictures of old Europe bring such a story book color palette? We are so fortunate that you bring these to us.

Mike, much appreciated sir. And yes I am told the wine could be delightful but we did manage to savor the
essence, or shall we say the spirit , of Alsace to the full!

Thank you kindly Mike for stopping by. Regards to the family.

Asher, my dear friend, it is sufficient encouragement that you enjoy some of these.

Regards.

I am mostly a 35-75mm person in terms of focal lengths in lenses. Rarely do I miss the others. I am sure
a wider or longer lens would be better. But I shall be struggling with those. In terms of handling, weight and use..esp. composition and framing.

The zf 50mm was the only lens I carried on this trip and it served me well..even for Catherdrals!!

But the above is really not my kind of shot. More a postcard.

Moved in close, after scouting a bit...

What if I couldn't have moved in closer...move away to another place, my friends.

The ' essence ' of Alsace is to be close to nature, the people and harps!

Beautiful-beautiful!

I especially am intrigued by this place "Caveau d' Guisheim"

Charlotte-

Hello Charlotte. Hope you and family are keeping well.

Appreciate your generous comment.

Eguisheim is a small village about 5 kms from Colmar, the regional capitol.

Eguisheim is listed as one of the prettiest and most scenic villages of France. Indeed it is.

Regarding the ' Caveau ', a superb restuarant famous for Alsacean food and wines. But more renowned
for its desserts!!

The food was excellent. The wine, we did not taste. The dessert, I took a spoonful from Ayesha and it was heavenly!

Thank you for stopping by.

I simply wondered where the electron pairs were coming from, LOL! The positrons are all around us! 50-202,000 would essentially move a lot of us all back to film, LOL!

Goodbye to Alsace..For Now.

We bid the Region goodbye from Strasbourg. But not before once last look..

p524236514.jpg

As autumn begins to set in, we took a quick glance to our side to see a sight similar to the ones that
had delighted us during our visit through this wonderful region of France.

p7627743.jpg

We had a TGV train ride across marvelous countryside and a short plane ride to another destination in Europe.

Thanks for being with us.
