Hope is almost always for or from others.

I have hope for all people who are short of basics for life, love and opportunity.

That hope is inherent in all of us: apes with clumsy progress to being fully empathetic.

In the darkest of times we look for a ray of light.

Looking ahead is certainly a strong human characteristic.
Those who believe they can will often be disappointed.
Hoping, like praying, places expectations in our thoughts.
It’s best if we adjust our expectations to the here and now and don’t aim too high.
For those who make it through the day, that is as good as it might get. Be satisfied with that.
Anything more is a bonus. Anything less and you won’t be here to complain about it.

The last year or so has certainly been enlightening. If nothing else, it has demonstrated the imperfections of humans, along with the stamina and persistence of those who focus on the here and now.

If you’re one of those people, welcome to the present. If anything, be prepared for all that follows. Instead of hope, prepare yourself for any eventuality and work to get through it the best way you can.

BTW, What’s amazing about dandelion sex is that the pollen does send a transfer tube down the stamen but then it stops short of the ovum below.

But that still signals the ovum that it should proceed to meiosis by doubling its own chromosomes without fertilization!


Imagine if that would happen with us too!
