But Jim, read again and study what Jérôme Marot revealed to you that your style might be:

...to actually add something blocking the main subject!

I had never thought of that myself and I could be totally wrong in my guidance to remove the obviously major
“obstruction” on the right that you included in your frame.

Only you can decide which path is yours. If it’s having an interfering object then look at the Magritte again.

I am grateful that we have folk like Jérôme here who have a deep respect for artists intent and are willing to defend that original creative expression.

What I suggested might be prettier but it’s not some “truth”, just a way of meeting standard expectations.

If all artists did that and composed as expected, we would not have any Dalis, Magritte or Van Goghs!

I happen to like this. We don’t need a whole cat in the frame to know the entire animal is there.

But just be concerned you please yourself. Whether or not we “get it” is secondary!

Still if others like it too that’s icing on the cake!
