Now that the smoke is clearing in the Southern Highlands, swathes of local forest are revealed to be dying from drought, not fire. Mt Gibralter, Gibbergunyah and Mt Alexandra are all affected, as are a variety of other locations in the district like syndicate casino aus . Affected species include scribbly gums, silver top ash, Sydney peppermints, black she-oak and Acacia longifolia, among others, so it is not limited to particular species. Wondered if other districts were suffering the same fate. As if the fires weren't doing enough damage.

Not sure what your point is here, Sandy.

My reflection was one of concern over the sale of properties and businesses to Chinese business people.
On the one hand we have an interest in maintaining economic ties to China and on the other we have large businesses being sold outright to the same people.
That seems counter productive.

I’m not sure I understand about the connection to loss of flora and fauna due to droughts and fires.

Tom,

Folk don’t notice what is gradually pilfered or stolen when there seems to be endless Forrest and wildlife.

But the fires cause folk to sit up and take notice.

Same with trade and sell out of resources to the Chinese.

Their “Road & Belt” program does spend a lot of boarded Western money.

But they will own the road and have the belt to hit you with!

They think your coal and iron oar is their nearby private rightful resource like resources in Susan and Peru!

Only thing is that in Australia they don’t get away with having their own security armies controlling the workers. Australian are not THAT gullible!
