What a great image, James. The snow stuck on the trailer really makes this image, In my opinion. I guess it gives it the sense that it is very far away, and that you have to bring the trailer to this remote spot with nothing for miles around and that it is not just the lake in front of your cozy winter cottage a few steps away.

I like it! :)

This is a great document, James. It strikes me as a mad place to be...is this the start of a new town. :)
I would love to see more images of this guys' way of life out there...

Yep. Cool (in every sense!) image.
Cold and solitude very well caught! though I'd love some color on the snow… white is almost never rally pure white ; )
I guess the sky is hazed as there are absolutely no shadow as fa as I can see… Soft light! but still beautiful contrasts… congrats

Thank you Asher, Maggie, Paul and Nicholas for your kind words - much appreciated!

This scene is at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park which is made up of a bunch of small islands near Lac La Biche, Alberta, Canada. The ice was approximately two meters thick when the image was taken while I was exploring the area, in February 2013. There were a number of other trailers and various types of fishing huts out on the lake. The fishermen I encountered were catching small Perch. Ice fishing is a popular family pass-time around this area.

The trail behind the person leads to a large hole in the ice where He will be teaching a class on how to rescue people .

Guy looks heroic! Has a lot of confidence of the young!

Glad to see these unusual images. we don't often get such pictures of desolate ice packs.

Thank you for looking Asher and taking the time to comment . This place will be full of buzzing boaters and beach bums during the summer.
