What on earth does the other side of town look like, LOL!

I must say, Fahim, that I'm so impressed by the panache of the fellow with the tied head scarf, if that's what it is!

Asher

Looks as shown. :)

Head scarf = Moroccan 'shesh': To wrap it around one's head, needs some practice!!

Regards.

As a style, this head covering is right up there. It's a handsome addition to the clothing. But what are the motivations: fashion, style, religious head covering or it protects against the sun? It would seem to be heat-retaining and rather hot to wear! Does it cover the hair? Does not seem like it does.

Basic motivation..protection from the heat. Wrap over one's face during a sandstorm. Shield one's face from the harsh dry northern cold winds. As a First Aid wrap in an emergency.

And there are other uses I have put my Shamagh to ( different than a shesh but similar usage ).

Of course, now a days it has been used as a fashion statement. Shamagh from the house of Channel, for instance! They all might look alike; just like a suit.

Thanks and regards.
