What do you carry?

What do you carry when you're out and about or doing a job?

For me...

On a job - 30D, 17-85 IS, 580EX2 around my neck
XT+BGE3 + 28-75, 580EX in my bag + spare batteries in my pocket.
My bag is a traditional over one shoulder bag

For myself - XT+BGE3, 17-85, 70-300 IS in my camera backpack

Depending on location I might also have my 9mm or my .357 Magnum tucked out of sight.

Hello Rhys,
I have no single answer to your question. It depends entirely on my intentions, requirements, and objectives for the outing.

I can, however, say that I try to take as little as possible. I have four complete camera systems ranging from Canon to Mamiya medium format (not to mention quite a bit of lighting) with far more stuff than I'd ever confess publicly. But over the years I've learned that the more crap schlepped = worse photographic returns (even with an assistant, which I consider one more accessory). One lens, one camera is bliss for me although it's not always possible.

Depends on the job...

Tomorrow I am shooting a wedding on Puget Sound.

5d with 70 200 2.8is; 24-105 - 85 1.8 100 2.8 and 16-35 borrowed. A 4 580ex; and ST-E2, a couple umbrellas, a stofen omnibounce, a polarizer (we're on the water), a 20d for backup and a reflector and two Westcott Umbrellas; For me, that was a light kit since I was flying up. Sorry I left my 50 1.2 at home.

If I am travelling and it's personal projects, sometimes just the 5d and 1 lens or two;

Prefer to keep it light and shoot tight!
