Hi Nicolas,

Nice atmosphere, helped by the wide angle and cloud cover. I hope you have a great holiday and get to spend some time to develop a good feeling for your new lens in new surroundings.

Cheers,
Bart

Nicolas Claris Spanish Night

It's the shared vision that counts. This is a very painterly image. The clouds provide a 3D structure to the wide angle view, giving a matrix that adds great depth and also a feeling of movement. This is, no doubt the result of cloud movement and as Bart points out the extreme of extra wide angle view. Without this one single powerful element, the picture would likely not work, especially given the sharp rendering on the right. It could be stitched it could be blended at different exposures and/or adjacent fields. This doesn't matter a lot to me as it is very pleasing.

I look forward to more so we can enjoy this journey with you!

Asher

the colors must have been amazing - at first glance it looked wider than the 24 mm!
On which parths of Spain is it?

I wish you nice holiday,

HI Nic

Hope you had a good holiday and have come back feeling rested and full of energy!

Looks like a beautiful still night, I love the feeling of being able to see for miles, I'm hoping to do some night photography when I'm in the Hebrides, hardly gets dark there at this time of year, thanks for showing us this - looking forward to seeing more.....

Stupid me ! I wrote @ 24 mm but of course it was 14 mm!

This ont the med side, in Cabo de la Nao (between Alicante and Denia). The light halo you can see comes from the lights of Calpe and Benidorm.
