My World: Why do you travel?

I stayed in a very rural part of the PRC. I was having fever and a severe toothache. After consultations with my doctor friends back home, they recommended a couple of medicines from the ones I was carrying.

More importantly, the very small and unassuming hotel I was staying in was privately owned. The owners, a Chinese couple, were both university graduates, had worked in various multinational firms and had retired here.

The couple nursed me back to health. It was like being at home. Thanking then seems so so cheap and insufficient.

In one of the travel forums, to which I rarely contribute, I wrote something about my experience there.

Mabel, the wife, responded..and here is her reply..cut/paste:

"

Dear Mr.Mohammed, we're very grateful to you for such a great review! As a host, we aim to make our guests like you, who look for a quiet place away from busy downtown, enjoy a relaxed and comfortable stay. So we just do what we can to reach the goal. We're very glad you're satisfying with the stay. And we're also very happy to host you, such a respectful gentleman. Thank you for sharing knowledge about planet and stars! It's an impressive experience to me! Hope to host you again soon, as an old friend.

"

The place was green..greener than I had ever seen before...

Sorry you were unwell, but glad you had the right medicines with you and the kindness of these wonderfully hospitable folk to get you better again!

Each visit by a good traveler, plants another seed of understanding that provides mutual joy as well as building an accepting attitude to diversity.

You are a great ambassador! Your care of the mind is enviable! But that alone cannot sustain you!

Perhaps you could lighten your schedule and stay in each place 3 days longer so as to be kinder to your body!
