A nice clean image Jaime. If I were to offer any C&C, it would just be that the subject seems to have less space where he is looking out of the frame (on the right) as opposed to on the left, but it's a minor consideration. I love the depth of field here whilst still keeping all the details of his hairs so sharp.

Jaime,

The irregular placement of the finely photographed wolf in the frame is disturbing and even awkward. I first thought, "Why not place a lot of landscape around your lone wolf, the hunter that no one will help?" Then I imagined landscape to provide bold asymmetry to the right of the wolf with space we could imagine the wolf thinking about.

Finally, I return to your picture and feel that, for sure, it's disturbing nature, bur is this, in itself of value as a characteristic of the picture now? Is that what you intended all along?

Actually, it all happened really fast. The wolf came running at a fast pace. I was kneeling/sitting in a couple inches of water shooting all the images I could before it was over.

He moved pretty fast and it was all I could do to keep him in frame.. As he approached, he was too close for my 500mm to focus..

Eventually, he turned his interests to fishing and spend several minutes fishing with a large grizzly.

I think I have several hundred images from the interaction.. it was awesome being so far in the back country watching two of my favorite animals just a few feet apart trying to catch fish..
