Yellowstone Wolf

I was lucky to see the "Canyon" wolf pack near Mammoth Hot Springs on Wednesday this week. I have quite a few images so I had to wade through to find a suitable image to post. I wanted to show all three wolves together so here is my choice. Canon 1D Mk II N + EF 400 f/5.6L, 1/1250s @ f/6.3, ISO 250. C&C always welcome.

Steve Robinson - Canyon Wolf Pack

Steve,

Now this pack of wolves is an especially great treat! I'm so thrilled to see more and more nature and not just headshots. Showing these defiant creatures in a wide view like this allows us to get a better sense of their social setting. The lighter coats do well here against the bare " twiggy" bushes. In that context, the darker coat of the fellow to the right is a good variation.

I am happy today see these, and also the added surprise of newcomer Luke's fine work too. This is a good day!
