Zeiss colors

Every time I use this lense I'm more impressed with the colors.

Carl Zeiss Jena 35mm F/2.4 M/F All wide open as I remember After micro-adjusting the A/F adapter -1.

The first is a tad dark. I had turned the exposure down in raw to see what it looked like and forgot to put it back when I processed it.

I think what you see Asher is the OOF of a lot of flowers as you go down the hill. The farther down the hill the closer the flowers.

yep, I'm °zeissy° too; beside the color rendering, I like the microcontrast very much, too.

I only tried once a lens from Jena, the 20 mm Flektogon (?) but didn't kept it, so the YCZ Distagon 25, 28, 35, Planar 50 and Sonnar 85 are often in my bag.

Ron, Michael:

It is interesting to hear people's impressions of Zeiss colors. Some think they are warm, while others
feel they are cold. Of course that has to be relative to some other lens. Generally though, what do you guys think?

as I use RAWs only, I didn't pay much attention to either a bit warmer or colder.
But I noticed the richness and depth of color, the ability of the lens to separate similar colors.

For architecture shots, today I rely to 99% on the available light. The YCZ have a good separation in the shadows and 3/4-tones, which is quite crucial for this type of photography. Muddy shadows would leave a bad taste in the mouth.
