As the leaves begin to change, a crisness in the air.
No more brightly dressed beauties to grace a city street.
Blond hair blowing in the wind.
A graceful fan, held ever so delicately.

Uh, wait.
Nevermind.

John, brought a smile to my face. As usual, your captures bring us the life on the streets.

And always, they tell a story...be it simple, fun or serious.

Thanks for sharing.

John,

Churchill once remarked, "We should speak English as it is spoke"! John, you photograph New York as it is that way. What is and not what should be! But it's not anything, but rather the best of it!

Thanks!

Asher

So true Asher!
As you can probaly tell, I don't spend much time photographing inanimate objects, buildings, etc.
I leave that to others much more accomplished than I.
It's the people that intrigue me.
I sure you, Ken and others for whom a large city is home can attest - there's never a want for interesting characters!

Charlotte, Fahim and Timothy - thanks kindly for the remarks. They're always a boost to my spirits!

John,

Was this part of a parade and what about other characters there? Or perhaps he, the artist, had the entire parade around him in his mind?

Asher

Hi Asher,
The short answer is no, he's just another one of the seemingly endless cast of characters one encounters.
However...and this gets awfully peculiar...
"what are the odds that I'd stumbled across him in the past?"
So I dug through all my images and there he was.
I had caught a glimpse of him exactly one year later!
My original posted image was shot in August '07, from the steps of the New York Public Library.
Here he is in August '08, in all his glory, downtown on Madison Avenue:
