I haven't a clue (not surprising).
The guy was very intent on filling the screen with both the stuffed animal and the skyline.
So I took his picture.

Hey John, this is a wonderful photo. I was surprised to see that nobody within the frame seemed to notice the photographer's odd endeavor, but then realized this is what really makes the image shine.

John,

B&W seems to clinch this picture. I love the oblivion he has to embarrassment!

Great shot.

Interesting that the "poster" for "Come Fly Away" was still up on 2010.10.24. The show was supposed to close on Broadway 2010.09.05.

Best regards,

Doug

Hi John,

Elementary my dear John. He must have been a terrorist planning to attack the Empire State building with a giant bunny instead of a giant gorilla. Here he is planning that by superimposing the bunny on the building in the distance (just like those pictures of people holding back the leaning tower of Pisa). lol

Cheers,

Tom Asher - thanks. I think most New Yorkers are oblivious to both what's happening around them, and for their own behavior. I must admit that's a good thing!

Cem, I think you're on to something!
Doug (groan), only you could would pixel-peep the exif and search the 'net for an anomaly in the background! :)
You've way too much time on your hands.

Oh, quite the contrary! I'm way overloaded. (Maybe too much Exif-peeping!)

Hi, John,

Evidently the run of "Come Fly Away" at the (Marriott) Marquis theater in New York was extended through some time early in December, 2010, when the house was taken over by a Christmas review with Donny & Marie Osmond (a cute girl with a harmless brother).

Best regards,

Doug
