Intro from the PNW CONUS

Grif here, couldn't figure out how to use my nickname without looking like I was trying to hide my real name,,, OhWell.

Not a real photographer, had one class in the late 60's in college, more as a lark than anything else. Did microfilm lab technical things in the 70's, graduated into computer generated microfilm and so on during the journey in search of the mighty $$. Formal education in microbiology, since the 70's I've been in data processing of one sort or another.

Upper left corner of the CONUS. Middle of Washington state, no, it's not green like Seattle;-) It's about 12" of rain a year. Our rain has a hose and sprinkler attatched. Big rain shadow from the Cascades and Rockies.

Packed a buddies C33 around while he was on "the" government paid vacation to southeast asia in the late 60's, I bonded with that camera about as well as any that I've had. Since then, I've got a nice Nikon Ftn system that's been with me since the early 70's. Sort of stopped taking pic's about 85 or so, just snapshots now and then. Back into it the last couple of years. It's more about the tools for me. A couple of 4x5's, Rolliecord 6x6, small speed graphic, B&J 5x7 commercial, half dozen 16mm's, one minox, argus C3 and so on and so forth. Dark room should be usable this winter, I'll be doing some scanning and digital printing from film. Landscapes, table top product stuff I enjoy. Not much into heavy HDR, digital is mostly snapshots and note taking, with film doing duty in the "photography" side of things for lack of a better description.

Enjoy a variety of portfolios when browsing, Landscapes, old buildings, industrial, sea/boats, aircraft. Almost any of the erotic headings are good, from very stylized art semi nude fashon to "the other side". Anyway, that's about the photo side of me. Other side is,,, well,,, complicated. RC, old Bronco, fly fishing, had a cherry, pear and apple orchard for years, grew up in the middle of them. Electronics, ham radio, metal lathe, table saw, some camping, a couple dozen dahlias, and other odd garden plants. Like to cook, love to eat. Read almost anything, actually that's where my hobbies come from, read about something, and just have to get my hands dirty.

Anyway,,,, Hellow from Washington State!!!

.... Formal education in microbiology, since the 70's me too! Then so much bookwork!

At the opposite side of the continent, I was braving 4 ft of snow in the winter and became an expert in plowing my own street to allow folk to get out and the heating oil tanker to fill us up!

Mine was my father in law's C330 and my Pentax Spotmatic! Those C33 and C330 Mamyas were handsome beasts and so easy to use and make giant prints.

Anyway,,,, Hellow from Washington State!!!

A huge welcome to you. Hope you still have envelopes and shoeboxes of prints to scan and share with us.
