Sleep early, rise early. Does not make one either healthy, wealthy or wise...but did help me get some pics here.. And it made me sleepy.

I waited some more...

Below is a valley. I had been down into the valley. It is beautiful down there. One has to wait for the cloud/fog/mist cover to clear to see below...

Nothing more to do here, I went to my log fire warmed room..and went back to sleep.

Just exquisite.

And to be able to go back to bed afterward. This is so much more valuable than what anyone here thinks of the images.

We must always please ourselves, or there is no hope of pleasing others (if that is in fact something of value). Part of that may be how we feel about our photographs. Part of that may just be going back to bed.

In any case, it seems likely that this is not street photography.

Thanks so much.

Best regards,

Doug

Thanks for stopping by Doug. And taking the time to post the encouraging comments.
It often became a pita to do a bit of documentary work..waiting for the next phase with my dslr. In this case as the sun rose.

My very best wishes.

Nicolas, what a wonderful wish for me!! Thank you so very much.

I do indeed need a lot of soothing at times in strange places. :)

Kindest regards and best wishes.

And another lesson my wife and I have learned...more than 90% ( even higher percentage at times in certain places ) strangers respond to a conversation.

People you don't know at all. Yes, there are some who are reluctant..that is their privilege ( once again mostly in certain paranoid countries )..but in general, to us at least people have been a source of friendships and learning.

And the best photographs we have taken...in the street or somewhere else, has been the people.
Strangers, that have been kind enough to us.

Not mixing in with the people of a different place, or country, all one has to show are some stamps in a passport.

If we ( my wife and me ) have not really met the people..we consider that a wasted journey...

p1782962077-5.jpg

Maybe it is who we are, or how we approach others; but often we get invited into their homes and they have been gracious enough to allow us to record our meetings.

What does travel mean to you? To us, it will always be about the people. And this we have shown here repeatedly and from across the world.

Such is our recording of the world we visited. Such shall always be our photography. Else, the both of us shall hang up our cameras and just fade away.

For me it is definitely about the people, their culture, food/clothing and the environment, i.e., architecture. Engaging images !
