Don,

Magnolias bring to mind brocaded dresses of Southern girls in their debutante party or a fresh scoop of ice cream. Either way, the imagination is given a lot of stimulation to fancy a great time. I hope you also have pictures of the flower opening and some of the leaves too.

If one is lucky a whole tree is in bloom. So hunt around to see if you have more to share.

If you have a macro lens and a tripod once it is open there area some amazing views!

They are fun to shoot for sure...keep going!

Nice photo Don. I cut down the Magnolia in our front yard; wife didn't like it. We considered moving it to the back yard, but the fellow didn't seem to think it would survive.

Mine has survived two major hurricanes with great amounts of salt water incursion and in one hurricane had nearly every leaf stripped from its limbs...still hammering out pretty flowers every year.
