Such an image is a treasure! This is a wonderful inspiration too! The dark background really helps make the image pop. Those Dutch and Flemish masters knew it too!

And just the last vestige of real sun-light gently washed over her head. I was trying to stay out of the way of the hired wedding photographer and turned just at the right moment to make the shot. The light up in the San Juan Islands off the WA coast is as lovely as anywhere else I've ever been.

I did draw upon the work of the Flemish Masters and darkened the background just enough to push all that frill forward yet not overpower the delicate tones in her cace and hair.

Thanks, Cem. Once ever so often, one just gets lucky, but luck is worthless unless one is prepared to take advantage of it...so I feel good on both counts.
