What elements need to be present in "Street Photography"?

Asher Kelman

OPF Owner/Editor-in-Chief
So what do you think street photography might need to work and to be worth the wall space for others to show in public places, their homes, workplace or even perhaps in a bespoke, bound and custom folio protected by intervening sheets of vellum??

Interesting content - otherwise no-one will consider it. Technical qualities of highest resolution, no noise, or all highlights or shadows having detail - - - seldom matter, except for possibly some art galleries who see that as more important than visual impact. For my work, street photography often extends into areas discovered while walking or shooting the streets.

Hi, Asher,

1. A street.

2. The taking of a photograph (you know, point and then shoot).

Best regards,

Doug

Damn, Doug, you got in before me. My thoughts exactly. Cheers
I would add one proviso for my own home, though.
A partner who thinks they match the decor. Obviously, mine don't
Such is the life of an artist!

What street photography needs? A tripod, a black veil and a view camera of course:

I am being facetious, but I just want to point out that you are opening a bigger can of worms than you think.
