Not only is the birds color so rich and full of detail, but the b.g. is suitable matching but with everything dimmed down in clarity and intensity, a perfect balance of fit and having the Heron still belong in it's own world.

The rest of the story: I was seated at the edge of the pond covered in camouflage mesh waiting for another bird (which never came close enough) when I heard the heron croaking behind me. I was pleasantly surprised that the heron didn't leave while I was turning the tripod and my rear end around enough for this photo; I was even more surprised that in turning around I didn't knock any of my equipment (or myself) into the water
