My World: Giesing

Difficult to describe the feel behind this one to those who don't live in Munich.
Giesing is a quarter of Munich which was a separate municipality until the middle of the 19th century.

If you wan to to know more - just ask :)

Best regards,
Michael

Michael,

My first question would be as to whether or not the have a good brewery? That would attract a lot of folk if there are large parks, as in Munich proper and the beer gardens.

It seems to me you haven't seen much of Munich. If you look for a Biergarten - you find one or more in every quarter of Munich.

For the breweries - there are the six big ones which dominate the market, but there is new development as for example this new one.

Best regards,
Michael

You're correct, Michael! Frankly I admit to only visiting one beer garden to watch the World Cup, something like a decade or so ago!

Didn't occur to me one would need more as that was so massive! Also, there are so many art museums and technical institutes with art programs that there is never enough time.

Also, this year, Venice has the Biannale, which means it gets bumped up a tad on my priority list, although I do love returning to Munich!

I plan to look into trains from Venice, perhaps for a very short visit.

Always happy to be informed! For a start, I have to see, for myself, all these magnificent underground railway stations!
