A Muse Visits! Bridget

I have been photographing non-models, just women I bump into. Bridget worked behind the counter in a fancy LA Hotel clothing store. Here red locks caught my eye as it reminded me of my mother’s flaming hair!

My son’s girlfriend came to our rescue with loan of dresses!

This so female! What a great catch of delicate female form. Love her gown! Good job OPF boss. :)
Thanks so much, Charlotte!

I was amazed myself by her execution of natural poses when I gave simple instructions. Each time she expressed her own femininity that I had not imagined.

Consider, this is her first shoot ever!

The last time I had seen her was at the very end of an hotel clothing-gift store, albeit for the rich, dressed in blouse and jeans!

Awesome again! She is a natural!! Love the form Her skin is so beautiful. I advise you to keep her on your list of real women! Hey O just a thought ask her if you could photograph her in a nude pose sitting down with her legs drawn together and her arms across her knees finger clasped and her head resting on her knees looking foreword at you... I think that would be striking O there is just so much creativity with a girl like her I say you hit a gold mine.

Could you consider using a white background in place of the present dark one? I think a "high key" aesthetics would go even better with a red hair model, white clothes and the relatively flat light you chose.

Thanks so much for your generous support and the composition idea. She moved out of state but I am planning to send her a ticket to return. So ideas from you and Jerome are so valuable and appreciated.

Thanks Jérôme!

The light is not meant to be flat! I will reflect on that point, (pun accidental)!

I have a huge Mola as the principle light and yes, that’s dominant but I also have an accent light above and to her left that is pretty powerful.

Next time I will check with a meter as well!

As to having a light bg that a great thought. I don’t want pure white but I will have to devise something or purchase a white canvas and then paint on it!

I am not a specialist of lights, but to my eyes pictures taken with beauty dishes are often lit flat. It is a very peculiar light and, I think, tricky to use. Two soft boxes or umbrellas left and right make it easier to adjust accent lights.

Meters are difficult to use with accent lights, which are usually used with directive beams. They do help when balancing two soft boxes.

In the "high key" aesthetics, the background is lit and often out of focus. It is not necessary to paint a structure on it.

Thanks again Jérôme!

One of the advantages of Medical Specialist and Science training is that one learns to be open to other folks ideas.

So your suggestions will be part of my repertoire of choices!

Again, “out of the camera” but a tad of brightening using “Snapseed” on my iPhone XS Max! Excuse the missed lighting at her left foot! I’ll correct that from the RAW file, before printing.
