I don't know whether this comes from the scan or compression, but I see a structure with fine vertical parallel lines at regular intervals in the top of the image. Or is that structure present in the paper?

The negative (Pictorico HP) and paper (Bergger Cot 320) are without fault. The original print though a 10x loupe shows no banding, nor when I zoom in on the tiff file (Scan size) and not even on the jpeg (@400%). Perhaps it is your monitor??

I tried 2 monitors. I see it on the tiff, not on the jpeg. But if it does not appear on the print, it is not important.
