Hi Joe,
I'm thrilled you are here. already I love that staircase which will stimulate the sharing of work by others and no doubt that will be the effect of much of your photography. I like the fact that your website is so clean, professional and uncluttered. Especially two things: you describe yourself in the first person, "I". I hate it when people say
"Expert master photographer Peter Silverfingers use only the most archival printing inks and papers. You will recieve a Certificate of Authenticity of a Genuine Peter Silverfingers Archival Print". His work will fill your home with the artistic presence of his great passion for his art."
Instead:
"I see patterns in nature and chaos in humanity. Each of these elements coexist to create a world rich with fabrics and textures of many dimensions. The eye and cognitive mind are central to making a great image. I use a Shen-Hao 4x10/5x7 large format view camera for panoramic landscapes, cityscapes, and architecture, and a Canon 5D for product, fashion, portrait, and documentary work. With these tools for image capture I can work on a wide range of assignments. I have a strong passion for imaging and even the most mundane assignments are considered an opportunity to produce art."
That is a far better bio and artists statement and gives me some solace that we have not been totally swampled by gurus that hype themselves like soap and cheep flip-flop sandles.
Anyway, that's a long wlecome, but it just says that I we all are going to enjoy your firendship and photography insights.
This is in particular why I like your photography. You obviously have put an effort to choose carefully in what and how you see and learn where to find magic. Here's just one my favorite landscapes from your webiste:
