The first two impress me beyond most landscapes. These show unique power. Thank God that the banking crisis has no impact on any of this. Massive, unquestionable, unyielding beauty!

Taken on a cruise in march/april last year on the west coast of Norway, south bound to Bergen.
These pics were taken inside the arctic circle not far from Kirkenes, across the border from Russia as we sailed downwards. Rightfully billed as the world's most beautiful voyage.
We took in a midnight concert in Tromso ( well inside the arctic ) which ended at about 0200 hrs.
The last pic was taken further south as witnessed by the scattered settlement night lights.
Nikon D200, Nikkor 70-300 vr, Nikkor 17-35. Some crop and ps.

I really appreciate the sharing of these beautys. I said it before that I live through your eyes and the eyes of others that are so fortunate to visit these spectacular places. This trip must have been a very special experience. The Nikon D200 did a magnificent job.
By the way, have you decided on what you will be taking to Nepal?

Hello James,
Thank you for looking. Norway is blessed with awesome beauty and we really enjoyed the trip.
I have almost finalised my kit for Nepal, and changes are in a large part due to your eloquently made suggestions in a previous post of yours.
for general walk around and portraits..M8 + 'cron 28/lux 35/lux 50/cron 75
for scenics/details/subject isolation/low light...D700+ zeiss 25,zeiss makro 50,zeiss makro 100
( I just might swap the nikkor 85/1.4 for the zeiss 100..not decided yet); polarisers, variable density
filter for using f2-f1.4 in the mornings.
Tripod.
Most important... medical insurance
Not carrying film due to processing hassles etc. instead the D700 shall stand in. basically 2 independant
systems. Heavy, but shall have a car and driver most of the time! Also redundant but different systems
that each can function on their own.
James, what would your photographic ideas be in Nepal if you were going?

"The Lord is Good" heh.
these pictures are interestingly amazing....the first one in BW is a killer. The thing you find in the way make the best pictures...because no everybody would bother and stop to take pictures
i bought a D700 today, i need to do some work
