Hello everyone, I am Rene-Frank, from Holland, now living in sunny California. I am happy to introduce myself to all of you. My photography is about color and rhythms one can create with color....And a strong sense of our humanity, and how that shines through...
Throughout my life I have done many different types of photography: documentary, travel, portraits... The Native American Grandmothers series on my site (Http://rfgartphotography.com) is what got me coming to America on a regular basis in the late 90's, and I started living here, first in New Mexico, with good access to Native American culture.
Several years ago I felt the need to work in a more expressive style of photography, creating my "Wildflowers" series. It was shaped by my belief in the relation between "womanhood" and "Mother Earth" as the Native female spirit on which we all reside and that supports and nurtures all of us. The series revolves around the model's personalities and their ability to open up and show their true selves to the camera, essential to make that connection to “Mother Earth” visible....There are of course several other sections on the site such as an extensive travel section.
I am happy I was given the opportunity to be part of the Open Photography Forum, and hope to be communicating often with all of you.
