Florida Scrub Jay

Stopped by to see if I could find some Scrub Jay's at our local Jay hang out! Since they are endangered many of these have been banded for habitat changes and are being tracked by some organizations.

Beautiful captures Eric. The first one with its beautiful color, clarity, and detail is especially impressive. I did not know these wonderful birds were endangered.
The D300 is certainly a fine instrument for wildlife shooting isn't it? Where is this Jay hangout you speak of and what lens were you using?

Yes i love my D300 camera..I used my Nikkor 200mm-400mm F4, ED, IF, VR lens

Thank you for that information.
That's good to hear and see concerning that lens. I need more reach but can't quite rationalize $10k for a 600mm so I am considering, after hearing wonderful reviews, purchasing the 200-400 myself. It really seems like the perfect solution for me. I already have the 24-70 and 70-200 so this one would fit quite nicely in my bag.

I also use 1.4 TELECONVERTER SOMETIMES..... GIVING ME 340MM-560MM AT F5.6. CHEAPER THAN BUYING A 600MM F5 FOR 10K.
