Nice capture, Eric. I really like these birds. My favorite is watching their feeding dance, where this display some pretty wild antics!

This image is nice and sharp, with pleasing colors. I have mixed feelings about the square format, but that is just a personal preference.

Thanks!

I like the 2nd crop better.

And I love this additional shot - the colors in the water are superb! Great wing spread and reflection. Killer shot!

Hi Eric,

I appreciate this crop as the placement of the bird is now more powerful. You still have the environment of the water but it is now sufficient and let's the bird take the mastery over the image.

This, Eric, is beyond magnificent, masterful and simple beauty. You have capture movement and attitude of this splendid and colorful creature. I cannot believe you chose to hold this far a second post.

Now I wonder what else are you holding back.

I would actually go in a little tighter on the crop, moving the bird away from center and putting it in the upper right third. My eye was getting lost looking at the water in the upper right before, which was basically dead space. Here is how I would crop it:

Yes, Matt,

It does appear more even more important now! Is the BTW, a male or feamle? Can one tell by the plumage? I do like the "Matt Diller" lettering in white. The egret now has tasty little tidbits to eat and the white add balance. Using a signature as a compositional element is neat!

Hello Eric

Both beautiful shots, trust me to be akward - but I love the original version, I like the feeling of space and isolation around him/her - but beautiful either way, thank you for showing....
