On the way to the British Museum

Being a dull gray day, decided to visit the British Museum..but..on the way ran into something much
better than the glory days of Babylon!

Hi Fahim,

I saw this yesterday but couldn't react at that time, sorry. The picture is excellent, but I think that you may have overdone in the saturation/contrast departments. The cheeks of some of the girls go into white and there seems to be a plugging of the tones and loss of finer details.

So how did you get them to pose for you like that? I am starting to think that you must be a very charming person to achieve results like this . Are you back home already or still in London?

Look how saucy the British girls are! Imagine getting this picture in Moscow, Cairo, Brussels or Peking? Maybe one could see this in Rome but I don't think so!

Mundane questions given that the picture works so well: what are camera and shot specific and could you rescue the highlights?

Was easy..just walked up and grouped them like you see and snapped! simple if you are charming, dark. handsome ! For me I had to ask !

Asher, all girls are saucy...just need to know how to make it happen.

There is a Leica shop around this corner, I know the owner. Went in to say hi and compare notes, while the wife was in a painting gallery next door. Way back to the museum saw this group of lovely ladies and asked them to pose for me..simple.

M8 + summicron 28 asph, f/4, iso 640. Light was atrocious and I was on jpegs. Setting was for general use as there was too much contrast, just grey and dark. besides had to hurry to the museum. Cropped.

It required 2 photographers to get this picture! Maybe one has an M8 too and claimed to be Fahim!

That's a great combo! Maybe they recognize the ref dot, LOL! Imagine how it will be when Leica gets updated sensors that can work at ISO 3200. I think Leica has yet to max out it's lens capability!
