The Exposed film look!

Charlotte,

I discovered this picture. I like the esthetics here. It's very different to you other work. This is obscured but not disrupted as your other alterations have so commonly done. This, however has become somewhat flat. I would suggest you look at taking B&W pictures on film and then quickly opening and closing the back to expose the film before taking pictures. Not in the bright daylight, but in the shade. This will spread light over the film and pull the image back into the film plane.

Hi, Asher,

You are perhaps speaking of the look of "lightstruck" film. We hope that all our film frames are "exposed".

Still, some who are taken with the "black and white" modality may wish to move even further to the "black" modality. Then of course no exposure is needed.

Best regards,

Doug

Doug, the opening of the back of the camera for an instant fogs the film a tad.

Of course.

Film that has been exposed to light (not not in the course of taking an image) is often said to be lightstruck (or "fogged").

Film that has been exposed to light for any reason may be said to be exposed, but the term is mostly used in connection with exposure to take an image.

So to say that fogged film "has the look of exposed film" is not apt.

Best regards,

Doug
