Fox Kit on the Hunt...

I have been watching and photographing these Red Foxes since birth. It was awesome to wath Mom raise 7 Kits!! Most of the Kits are on their own and have all claimed their own little spots.
I knew this little guy would be coming by...I was waiting down low in the tall grass for him. He passed 30 feet in front of me.

I wonder if this little chap accepts you now? Do you think you are part of its world? I have never seen such beautiful fox fur. I am surprised that these guys are so independent.

I love the stare in the second shot. I really enjoy looking at these.

I also wonder if they have seen you so often that they accept you.

Good stuff Eric. You have earned these, I think, by your patience.

I love the intent concentration he is displaying in the second picture particularly.

Hi Eric,

Well done, your patience has payed off. While intimate animal potraits benefit from the subject looking into the lens, I prefer the second shot. The young fox is obviously focused on something 'important' (even though his right ear is checking you out at the same time), rather that him just being cute/paying attention to the observer.

Thanks for sharing,
Bart

Both are beautiful, but I do favour the second as well. The eyes and expression are so intense. It must have been a wonderful experience to watch them grow.
