Rules:

- this is for fun..so please join in

- photograph of a place with some ( not too obvious !) indication of where/what place it is.

- the first one to guess correctly, posts his/her own photograph of a place.

- have to identify the place by writing before the place name..' is it ( whatever ) '

Not an original idea, but let's share the world and see if we know our geography :)

I shall start: where is this:

Spain?

It looks like Spain to me because of the buildings - the roofs are Spanish tile, proximity of buildings is close together and the church spires....

Kathy, you are almost there. It has world famous art galleries/museums, and their rival football club
beat Man. Untd recently. Torres KIO.

The towers Nicolas mentions were designed by American architects.

This was a city I visited a year ago - one of my favorites and one I could easily have spent a week. There is a bit of twist to this image. It's archetecture mimics one of the other great cities in Europe.

No

Not Halifax....Halifax does not have canals but this city, like Amsterdam is known for lots of bicyclists, canals and culture.

(Halifax, however is very photogenic...I want to go back there again - I visited there 5 years ago 0with my first digital camera)

No Not Flemish!

No, Fahim - it is not in Belgium. I got an email from an OPF'er who guessed correctly. I bet he will post shortly.

Oops - actually he did not guess correctly! He said Stockholm. It is not Stockholm.

I had an unfair advantage...

My parent company is headquartered in Denmark. The "unfair" advantage is I regularly stay at 71 Nyhavn. It's the restored warehouse (now a charming hotel) at the opposite end of the canal.

Ok, since I cheated a bit, here's an easy one.
Clue: Do not discount what's been said in the past.

One of my best travel days was in Brugge

I spent two weeks crusing in Northern Europe last year. Two of the best days were visiting friends in Amsterdam and Brugge - I loved Bruges - very charming. Not to hijack the posting but here is one from my day there:
