It looks like you're using similar post-processing to the hidden deer shot. As I commented there, I think it worked well in that image, but I'm not sure it's the best choice here. I like this image, in terms of composition and color, and I think I might prefer a more traditionally processed version.

Dwayne,

Here's where we might challenge you to consider a nuance to your "signature" style. Ask what is needed to convey your subject the best way possible but with your own sensibilities and values. This is where the difficulty often lies. Should you give in to even persuasive arguments to show the animal clearly? Does that undermine your credibility to yourself.

I'd offer for consideration an idea of graded use of the signature soft effect with judicious masking so that the beauty of the rare animal is celebrated and not reduced to a more vague splash of gold.

Just my $0.02

I only offer what "could" not what "should" as it's after all, your picture.

Hi Asher,

Excellent insight and points here Asher ! Thank you. In my opinion not giving in and sticking to the
signature series is worth its weight in gold after all as artists we are creating for ourselves no ?
Meaning I love this look and style to my work.

Also I looked on the net for a soft-focus effect Red-Eft photo and could not find a single one
only mine maybe thats a good thing or bad lol. I think I can have the best of both worlds "style" and "subject matter" justice.

Take care,

Dwayne Oakes
